چکیده
The main element to assess the potential risks associated with toxic cyanobacterial blooms is precise identification of species. As part a water quality monitoring during 2015 in Santa María del Oro crater lake, Nayarit, bloom was detected. Thus, this work aimed identify bloom-forming cyanobacteria species using polyphasic approach. that produced were Limnoraphis robusta, which represented first record for Mexico, and Microcystis aeruginosa, new Nayarit. During bloom’s most intense phase March April, filament trichome width L. robusta decreased by 50%, thus, resembling hieronymusii morphometry. Despite morphological variations, ecological molecular data allowed us assign, unambiguously, morphotype robusta. According our data, it important trace cell size natural populations their variation limits.

Microcystis aeruginosa is a problematic cyanobacterium in freshwater lakes distributed worldwide. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of M. aeruginosa NIES-87, isolated from Lake Kasumigaura, Japan. The genome is approximately 4.9 Mb in size, with an average G+C content of 42.9% and 4,355 predicted protein-coding genes.
متن کاملA Tribute to Disorder in the Genome of the Bloom-Forming Freshwater Cyanobacterium Microcystis aeruginosa
Microcystis aeruginosa is one of the most common bloom-forming cyanobacteria in freshwater ecosystems worldwide. This species produces numerous secondary metabolites, including microcystins, which are harmful to human health. We sequenced the genomes of ten strains of M. aeruginosa in order to explore the genomic basis of their ability to occupy varied environments and proliferate. Our findings...

متن کاملIntraspecific variation in growth and morphology of the bloom-forming cyanobacterium Microcystis aeruginosa.
In the laboratory, we documented large variation in the morphology, toxicity, and maximum population growth rates for 32 Microcystis aeruginosa strains isolated from 12 lakes. Growth rates and mean colony sizes varied significantly across strains and were positively correlated. However, growth rates were unrelated to toxin production.
